They say April showers bring May flowers but I swear just yesterday it was January. These last few months have been a blur. It’s almost surreal to think about what’s happened with the Pandemic and all. Feels like we’re living in the world of the walking dead TV show and this is just the beginning. Thankfully we’re not though and hopefully everything will return to normal in due time. Anyway enough doom and gloom. Since it officially spring let’s talk changes. Time to spring forward.

The Daily - Spring Forward

Blog Changes

I’ve re-organized the blog, again. This time it’s going to stick. I want this website to be a useful resource as well as a place where I can just write about anything so I’ve narrowed its scope and added a few new categories:

Annotations – I’ll be putting my mini analysis’ of books, movies, art, etc. here. A great exercise and way to learn more about the art of storytelling.

Creators Corner – This is where I hope to put interviews and Q&A’s I have with other creators. A place to discover new artists and also learn from experts in the craft.

Making Comics – I’ve spent most of the last year or so learning how to make comics so here is where you’ll find everything I’ve learned along the way.

Musings – Sometimes I get ideas and just need a place to write about them. Find them here.

On Writing – All about writing. For the first time in a long time I feel like my writing is improving. So much to learn and do so little time. This is for the writers out there.

Recommended by Me – My favorite things. Books, comics, movies, and more. Probably in list form, because everyone likes a good list!

Short Fiction – Here you can find short fiction stories written by me.

The Daily – Just me on the daily. Well probably more like monthly or whenever I can get to an update. Look here for updates, journals, and WIP progress.

Visual Arts – I’ve been doing more and more visual arts so find some of those works and discussions here.

What I’ve Been Up To

I’ve been home since the middle of March and probably won’t be back in the office until the end of May. The thing I miss the most since Quarantine started is the freedom to go where I want when I want. I also like staying active and that’s hard to do stuck in a 500 sq ft apartment. The one thing I don’t miss is going into work day after day. Now if I can only find a way to get around that when things get back to normal that would be great.

On the upside, I’ve been able to spend a lot of working on things that I care about, like comics and writing. In these last 2 months, I think my progress in those departments has improved by leaps and bounds. I’ve read more, written more, and learned more in these past months than I have the entire previous year. Talk about catching up!

I hope to carry this creative momentum for as long as I can, but who knows what the rest of the year has in store.

Anyways that’s all for now,  hope you’re all doing well. Stay safe and stay creating!
